Set 1,000 years before the events of Tales of Zestiria, the game takes place after the Advent makes Malakhim and Daemons visible to all humanity. The Abby, founded by the future Shepard Artorius, uses the power of the Empyrean Innominat to establish control over the known world and suppress rebellion. As the Exorcists expand their influence, the world grows colder for unknown reasons.
