Characters use specialized investigative abilities such as Interrogation, Data Retrieval, Forensic Entomology, and Bullshit Detector, alongside action abilities for combat, pursuit, and maintaining mental stability. The GUMSHOE system ensures that essential clues are found, allowing investigations to advance without stalled searches. The second edition includes expanded setting information, new supernatural threats, guidance for structuring and running investigative scenarios, the Station Duty campaign frame, and multiple introductory and advanced scenarios.
