The Shores of Tripoli

A two-player card-driven historical wargame set during the First Barbary War. One player commands the U.S. squadron seeking to protect American commerce and compel Tripolitania to stop corsair attacks; the other commands the bashaw and his corsairs, conducting raids and defending the coast. Play uses event and leader cards to trigger historical actions, while players maneuver ships and land forces, resolve naval and shore battles with dice, conduct diplomacy, and bring in reinforcements. Components include wooden pieces, dice, and a mounted map that represent fleets, forts, and ports as players contest control of the Mediterranean littoral.
