Waterloo 1815: Fallen Eagles

A regiment/battalion-level simulation of the 1815 engagement, featuring detailed orders of battle for French, Anglo-Allied and Prussian forces, a large hex map at 200 m per hex, and over 400 counters. Play proceeds in one-hour turns with formations (divisions and corps) receiving simple orders, activating in sequence at player choice but constrained by previously issued commands. Combat resolves with a new mixed system emphasizing morale, attrition and commitment rather than tactical micro-chrome; mechanics include offensive/defensive/opportunity fire, charges and counter-charges, retreats before combat and melee, and variable zones of control based on unit strength. Scenarios cover the full battle and local actions (Hougoumont, D’Erlon, Plancenoit), and optional rules allow alternate-timeline variations such as altered Prussian arrival or different weather. Victory uses sudden-death objectives plus control of key points and loss tallies.
