Players try to be the first to empty their hand by discarding cards that match at least two of three attributes — count, color, or animal type — of the previously played card. On a turn, a single card is played that shares two of those characteristics; if unable to play, a player draws. Special cards alter play and provide tactical options during the round. Rounds continue until one player runs out of cards, which ends the round and determines the winner.
