1860: Locomotives of the Isle of Wight

A set of 48 replacement trains for the Isle of Wight railway game represents most of the locomotives that historically operated on the island. Numbered trains are replaced by lettered bands, with each band offering variations on the original designs. Early trains are generally cheaper 2+0s rather than 2+1s, while others offer improved performance at a higher cost; trains also vary in when they rust. Later trains operate somewhat differently from the standard set, while the overall number used remains broadly similar. Players may choose a train from the current band or use a strict purchasing order, creating competition for the available locomotives.
