A fantasy campaign setting rooted in a thousand-year-old empire where samurai, farmers, wanderers, and outsiders vie to become legendary heroes. Players create characters using species, backgrounds, classes, feats, motivations, and a refreshed inspiration-based goal system, compatible with the 5th-edition SRD ruleset. The book provides guidance for running games in the setting, statted threats and monsters, and tools for shaping heroic narratives. Includes a starter adventure for levels 1–3 that sends characters into a haunted castle in the Shadowlands, plus rules and advice for building long-running campaigns in the imperial and supernatural realms of Rokugan.
