Ambon: Burning Sun & Little Seagulls

A two-player operational wargame that recreates the early 1942 campaign for control of Ambon Island in the Moluccas. One player commands Japanese infantry and naval landing forces aiming to seize three primary objectives (the city, Paso, and Laha airfield) and secondary sites as quickly as possible; the other commands Dutch and Australian units trying to delay and attrit the attacker. Play centers on maneuvering units on a hex map, contesting key hexes, and resolving combat to gain or deny control. Victory depends on holding objective hexes and eliminating enemy units, with Japanese success scored by the speed of capture and Allied success by slowing or inflicting losses.
