Cahoots

Players cooperate to play cards onto four shared piles by matching either color or number. Each round presents a specific goal — for example, make all piles a single color, keep every card below a certain value, or reach a target sum — and the group must achieve it without openly revealing their hands. Turns are simple: play a card to one of the piles or draw, while using limited nonverbal clues and rule-based coordination to guide teammates. The game supports solo or small-group play and challenges the team to meet the goal before the round ends.

Regelspørsmål

Besvart fra regelboka av Ludoyas regelassistent.

Am I allowed to tell teammates what numbers or colors I have in my hand?

No — you may not state what numbers or colors you have; you may only say which piles to play on or which goal cards to pursue (Communication). (p. 1)

Can I play a card that only matches the pile by color or number, or does it have to match both?

You may play a card if it matches either the top card's color or its number (it can also match both). After playing, draw back up to four cards if the draw pile still has cards. (How to Play / Setup). (p. 1)

What happens if a goal is already satisfied by the starting face-up number piles—do we score it immediately?

Yes — any goal completed by the starting face-up piles is collected into a separate “wins” pile and replaced with new goal cards from the goal pile. (Setup / Notes). (p. 1)

When exactly do I draw cards and how many should I have?

On your turn you play one card, then draw back up to four cards from the draw pile if there are still cards left, so your hand should be refilled to four when possible. (How to Play / Setup). (p. 1)

If my play completes more than one visible goal, do I take them all and replace them?

Yes — if multiple goal cards are completed on a turn, immediately collect all related goal cards, place them in your wins pile, and replace them with new goals from the goal pile. (How to Play / Notes). (p. 1)

How can we lose the game — what exactly ends the game in a loss?

You lose if the draw pile runs out and all players are out of cards, or if a player cannot legally play a card before all goals are completed. (Ending the Game). (p. 1)
