A roleplaying game of cosmic horror based on the works of H. P. Lovecraft. Players portray ordinary people who investigate strange events and confront the terrifying beings and forces of the Cthulhu Mythos. The setting includes the ruins of ancient civilizations, remote islands, deserts, polar regions, and places beneath the sea, where the Great Old Ones lie dormant. One player serves as Keeper, presenting the investigation and portraying its dangers, while the others create investigators and decide how they respond. Play uses the rules, dice, and collaborative storytelling to resolve investigations, with exposure to the Mythos threatening the investigators’ sanity and lives.
