Catan: Byer & Riddere

Adds a deeper layer to the base game by introducing commodities, city improvements, and active knights. Cities produce three new commodities—paper, cloth, and coins—in addition to resources, which players spend to build tiered city improvements that grant benefits and access to new development-card decks tied to each commodity. Players recruit and activate knights along their road network to contest intersections, move the Robber, and collectively defend the island against periodic barbarian attacks; the outcome affects city status and awards based on relative knight strength. The expansion increases tactical options and typically lengthens playtime.
