Players start with a set number of dice and take turns rolling to shed them from their pool until someone runs out and wins. On a turn the active player rolls their dice plus a special Cthulhu die, resolves the Cthulhu die first, then resolves any other non-blank dice results. Dice outcomes permit actions like attacking opponents with machine guns, placing cultists to interfere with others, or gaining scrolls that grant powers. Play balances luck of the rolls with tactical targeting of opponents; the objective is to be the first player to run out of dice.
