Dominion: Prosperity

Dominion: Prosperity

This expansion centers on wealth and high-value cards, adding a large set of new Kingdom cards plus new Basic cards that extend the game beyond the usual top-tier treasures and victory cards. Players draft and buy cards to build personal decks, using richer Treasure cards and cards that interact with money to generate powerful turns and big purchases. The set includes expensive, game-changing cards that reward heavy investment in currency and strategic timing, shifting the game toward economy-driven strategies and larger point swings.

Regelspørsmål

Besvart fra regelboka av Ludoyas regelassistent.

Do I have to play all my Treasures before I buy, and can I play more Treasures after buying?

You must play any Treasures you want to use before you buy — you cannot play more Treasures after you buy a card (page 4).

I played Contraband — can I still gain the card my neighbor named by other means, and what if I play multiple Contrabands?

Contraband prevents you from buying the named card that turn but does not stop you from gaining that card by other means (for example via Hoard); if you play multiple Contrabands the player to your left names a card each time, and you cannot buy any of the named cards that turn (pages 7,5).

If I buy a Victory card while Hoard is in play, do I still get the Gold even if the Victory is immediately trashed (e.g., by Watchtower)?

Yes — each Hoard in play makes you gain a Gold when you buy a Victory card, and you still gain that Gold even if the gained Victory is immediately trashed (page 8).

How do the VP tokens from Goons/Bishop/Monument work and are they public?

'+X VP' means you take that many common VP tokens onto your player mat (you take them from the pile of unused tokens); the tokens are public and count toward your final score; Goons awards 1 VP token per card you buy and Bishop/Monument award tokens as described (pages 4,8,7).

How does Trade Route place tokens — which piles count and does it matter who gained from them?

At game start you put tokens on any Victory piles that have already had a card gained from them, and during the game you move a token onto the Trade Route mat for each Victory pile that has had at least one card gained from it (it doesn’t matter who gained them and returned cards don’t change that); Trade Route then provides +1 coin per token and gives an extra Buy when played (pages 11,10).

When can the game end when using Colony and Platinum?

With Platinum and Colony in use, the game ends at the end of a turn if the Province pile is empty, any three Supply piles are empty (four piles if 5–6 players), or the Colony pile is empty (page 4).
