Dominion: Seaside

An expansion that adds coastal and maritime elements to the base deck-building game; it requires a base set to play and supplies new card types and mechanics focused on seafaring. Players draft kingdom cards into their personal decks, use action and treasure cards to gain buys, and acquire new cards to improve their engine and scoring potential. Several cards introduce effects that span multiple turns or allow actions to be used twice, reflecting voyages and delayed benefits. The set also includes cards that interact with opponents and the supply, emphasizing planning ahead, timing purchases, and managing both immediate gains and future turns.

Regelspørsmål

Besvart fra regelboka av Ludoyas regelassistent.

When I play a Duration card like Wharf or Merchant Ship, does its effect happen now or next turn, and when do I discard it?

Duration cards do what they say now and on subsequent turns as written; leave them in front of you until the Clean-up phase of the last turn in which they do something, placing active Duration cards in a separate row to track them (pages 4, 6).

If I have to draw or look at more cards than are left in my deck, do I shuffle immediately?

You do as much as you can from your deck first, then shuffle your discard to form a new deck and finish the action; do not shuffle your discard pile until you actually need to (page 5).

How exactly does Outpost's extra turn work—do I draw 3 cards and can I chain Outposts?

The extra turn from Outpost is a normal turn but your starting hand for it is only 3 cards, and playing Outpost multiple times in one turn still only gives one extra turn (and playing Outpost during an extra turn doesn't give another) (page 9).

What happens with Haven and Island set-aside cards—when do they come back and are they shuffled into the deck?

Haven: draw, set aside a card face down on the Haven (you must set one aside) and return that card to your hand at the start of your next turn while Haven is discarded in that Clean-up (page 8). Island: when you take an Island you use the Island mat and place the Island and its set-aside card(s) face up on the mat; those cards are not shuffled back into your deck during play and are only returned to your deck at the end of the game for scoring (page 8).

If I Throne Room (or otherwise copy) a Duration card, do the other cards stay in play until next turn?

Yes — if you play or modify a Duration card with another card, the other card stays in your play area until it is no longer doing anything, so both cards remain until the Clean-up phase of the final turn they affect (page 4).

Do I need two Treasure Maps to get the Golds, and what happens if I Throne Room one?

You must trash two copies of Treasure Map to gain the Golds; if you play a single Treasure Map alone it trashes and gains nothing, and Throne Room can interact so that the first resolution trashes two and gains Golds while a later resolution might trash remaining copies but gain nothing—see the Treasure Map examples (pages 10–11).
