Field Commander: Rommel

Solo operational-level wargame that puts the player in command of Erwin Rommel’s forces across three World War II campaigns: France 1940, North Africa 1941, and D-Day 1944. Players issue and resolve movement and combat using a Battle Plan/Operation Plan chit system while an automated Allied system handles enemy actions, reinforcements, and logistics. Units that win battles gain improved stats, and optional historical tweaks adjust difficulty and replayability. Campaigns can be linked via Career rules so outcomes carry over to subsequent scenarios. Plays in about two hours and targets a moderate complexity solo experience for ages 12 and up.
