Picket Duty: Kamikaze Attacks against U.S. Destroyers – Okinawa, 1945

Solo solitaire wargame that simulates a Fletcher-class destroyer assigned to radar picket duty off Okinawa during the spring of 1945. Players act as the ship’s captain and manage crew functions and damage-control teams over sequential eight-hour turns while facing waves of kamikaze and other air threats represented by 27 aircraft types, some with special attack profiles. Gameplay includes basic and advanced rules, historical and hypothetical scenarios, a mini- and full campaign, and optional rules. Systems modeled include weather, radar, air and surface fire support, ammo and fuel consumption, ship trim and listing, and specific threats such as Ohka attacks.
