Ticket to Ride: London

Play as competing bus companies on a compact map of 1970s London in a fast, 15-minute version of the route-building game. Players collect colored transportation cards, claim routes by spending matching cards, and draw destination tickets showing pairs of London locations to connect. Each turn players either draw cards, take a face-up bus (wild) card, claim a route with cards from hand, or draw additional destination tickets. The round ends when a player is down to two or fewer buses; everyone then takes one final turn. Score points for claimed routes, completed destination tickets, and fully connected districts; subtract points for any uncompleted tickets.

I thought this would turn out to be underwhelming and anticlimactic due to its shortness but I actually really liked it. First of all it takes up much less table (and shelf) space than its big brother, and you can finish a game in about 15-20 minutes. It does feel short but because of that it also really tight, racing to get your final tracks / tickets done. Nowadays I often don't feel like setting up the original game because it's quite lengthy (for a gateway game) and I played it so much back in the day. So all in all, I feel like this compact version somewhat reinvigorated my love for the game, which is delightful as TtR was what brought me into the hobby several years ago.

Regelspørsmål

Besvart fra regelboka av Ludoyas regelassistent.

Can I claim more than one Route on my turn?

No — you may only take one of the three actions on your turn, and you cannot claim more than one Route during that turn (pages 1–2).

How do Bus (multicoloured) Transportation cards work — are they wild cards?

Yes — Bus cards are multicoloured wild cards and can represent any colour when claiming a Route; you may hold any number of Transportation cards in your hand (page 2).

If I take a face‑up Bus card, can I take another card after it?

No — if you take a face‑up Bus card as your first card you cannot take a second card that turn, and you may not take a face‑up Bus as your second card (page 2).

When I draw Destination Ticket cards, do I have to keep both or can I discard them?

When you draw two Destination Tickets you must keep at least one (you may keep both); any returned card is placed on the bottom of the deck, and you cannot discard a kept Destination Ticket later (page 1).

Can one player claim both Routes of a Double Route, or can the other player claim the second one?

A single player cannot claim both Routes of a Double Route; additionally, in a two‑player game once one Route of a Double Route is claimed the other Route cannot be claimed by the opponent (page 2).

How do Districts score and what does it mean to 'complete' a District?

A District is a group of Locations of the same colour and number, and that number is the District's point value; to complete a District you must link each Location to every other Location in that District (page 1).
