In an alternate early-2000s Japan, lonely people are merging with animals and gaining strange powers. The government’s Public Welfare Department seeks to control these Merged Beings in the name of restoring a normal society, while the autonomous district of Banzai City resists its authority. Players arrive at a local high school just after delinquent Inaba Mikami merges with a school bunny. They investigate the incident, interact with the people and authorities involved, and become caught up in the conflict surrounding the Merged Beings.
