Players jockey for control of the Soviet Politburo, placing and rearranging politicians into offices while secretly allocating influence on a set of characters. Play proceeds through office phases where the politician occupying each post performs the action dictated by that office, executed by the player with the highest revealed influence on that politician. Actions include promoting allies, demoting rivals, purging opponents to exile or Siberia, and pardoning supporters. Each action ages the politician and regular health checks can cause illness or death; managing the roster’s mortality is central. Victory comes from controlling a Party Chief who survives the required number of successful parade checks.
