Aquelarre (1st Edition)

A dark, demonic roleplaying setting in the Iberian Peninsula during the late Middle Ages, where medieval politics and folklore intersect. Players create and play characters who navigate wartime kingdoms, social hierarchies and hidden supernatural forces; they investigate, negotiate and fight while interacting with witches, demons, vampires and other legendary creatures drawn from local tales. Gameplay uses a ruleset with polyhedral dice to resolve actions, character creation, combat and magic, and emphasizes exploration of the tension between human institutions and a secret world of myth, sorcery and moral peril.
