Pirates argue for the crew’s support after the captain vanishes, each seeking to become the ship’s new leader. Tell stories about past deeds, mislead rivals, and reveal secrets about their exploits while avoiding telltale signs. Each turn, one pirate chooses from three story cards and tells a tale. The others discuss whether to believe it or challenge the story. Challenging a true tale loses crew support, while exposing a lie steals support from the storyteller. The first pirate to gain 15 crew members becomes the new captain.
