Can you run rings round the Covenanters in the King’s name, or will factional infighting and disbanding troops bring defeat? This two-player wargame depicts Montrose’s campaigns in Scotland during the First English Civil War. The Royalist player recruits a Highland army, seeks victory in Scotland, or marches into England, while the Covenanter player manages internal divisions and attempts to destroy Montrose. Campaign cards introduce events such as defections, plague, and the Highland charge, affecting recruitment, movement, and combat.
