Players enter a prospecting boom town and compete for prestige by hiring adventurers to handle gold prospecting, gunfights, and poker games. Adventurers are acquired through simultaneous bids using IOUs, with each card providing a rating for the three events. In each event, players reveal an adventurer card and compare the relevant ratings. Gold Fever awards gold for the highest places, High Noon lets the winner recover IOUs while the loser is eliminated, and the Poker Game moves players along the prestige track. At Pay Day, IOUs come due according to a die roll; unpaid debts bring vulture chips and a loss of prestige. The game ends when a player reaches the winning space, collects three vulture chips, or the undertaker reaches the end of the timing track.
