Last Battle: Ie Shima, 1945

A two-player wargame depicting Operation Indispensable, the American invasion of the Japanese island of Ie Shima from April 16 to 21, 1945. The American player must capture the island and its airfields quickly while limiting casualties, coordinating infantry with air power, armor, artillery, and naval support. The Japanese player combines regular troops, construction personnel, and civilians to defend key terrain, disrupt the timetable with concealed positions and resistance, and inflict attritional losses through artillery, night attacks, and possible kamikaze strikes. Weather, rubble, and optional historical figures affect the course of the battle.

Mi amor por la serie Storm ha ido decayendo con lo años, mi evolución en el mundo d los wargames está marcada por la cada vez mas aversión que me produce este sistema. Mecánicamente embrollado y poco elegante, la linea que marcó el japonés Nakamura con Storm Over Stalingrad debería haber marcado la evolución de mecánicas del sistema. No es que el juego este mal, esquema todas estas reimplementaciones siguen las mecánicas d principios de los 80 de los primeros juegos de la serie.
