Storm Over Arnhem

A tactical simulation of the fight for the Arnhem bridge during the Market Garden operation. Players command British and German forces across a map divided into areas and resolve actions using an area-impulse system: each full turn represents eight hours and is split into multiple impulses in which small groups of units may move or fire, becoming committed until the next turn. Combat uses pooled attack and defense values modified by two-dice rolls; the margin of success determines casualty points that the defender must absorb through retreats or unit eliminations. The game offers a relatively low-complexity wargame experience focused on timing, incremental gains, and unit commitment mechanics.
