In the Ashes

A solo-focused dark fantasy adventure played entirely within a book using only a pencil (or pen). Players progress through an epic, fully replayable campaign by drawing and marking pages to move, track health and status, record loot, and resolve controlled-random events embedded in the book. Tactical combat uses action cards and combo systems, character advancement unlocks new disciplines and abilities, and boss encounters feature unique mechanics. Scenarios present narrative choices, hidden visual clues that grant bonuses, and a built-in tutorial that teaches rules as the story unfolds. Designed for quick setup and portable play, sessions range from a few minutes to several hours without need for miniatures, dice, or additional components.
