Players take on asymmetric roles: one controls the killer shark and one to three others control Brody, Hooper and Quint as they hunt the predator around Amity Island and later aboard the Orca. Play divides into two acts on a double-sided board. In the Amity Island phase the shark stalks swimmers and evades capture while the humans search for its location and rescue victims. In the Orca phase the characters confront the shark from a sinking boat, using character abilities, event cards and action cards to attack, defend and maneuver. The humans win by killing the shark; the shark wins by successfully attacking the Orca.
