Players investigate a mysterious 1925 diary that arrives in the present, following a branching cosmic-horror narrative that unfolds through physical artifacts and revealed pages. The game combines reading novel-length content, solving puzzles, and managing sanity with an SANscope and an 8-sided Fracture die for checks. Combat uses a dexterity element where players drop attack dice into a target zone, and progress is tracked visually with collectible achievement stickers. A binder-based system requires unsealing and adding new pages and scratching hidden elements on character cards, causing the story to change permanently across playthroughs and leading to multiple possible endings.
