Assyrian Wars

Diplomacy is measured in tribute, siege engines, and the strength to enforce both. Set in ancient Mesopotamia from 722 to 605 BC, the game follows the Assyrian Empire through its wars against Babylonia, Elam, Media, Egypt, Urartu, and rebellious city-states. Players move between 66 cities in a point-to-point campaign, using cards to direct impulses, pursue trade, form temporary alliances, and conduct detailed sieges with rams, towers, and undermining. One player leads Assyria against the others, while the changing cards create a different struggle each game. Solitaire play is also supported.
