Players work together as a team of private detectives hired to re-examine a murder in a suburban bathing spot where a body has washed ashore. The group studies case files, fingerprints and police interviews, checks alibis and motives, and compiles evidence on a central poster. Investigations include interpreting documents, making telephone calls, receiving text messages, and conducting targeted internet research. The game runs roughly 1.5–3 hours, supports pausing and resuming, and is intended for players aged 14 and up. A phone is required; a laptop or tablet is helpful but not mandatory.
