Mega Empires

Players lead an expanding empire across a modular map, placing population tokens, founding cities and vying for control of territory by land and sea. Play alternates between interactive trading phases—where players exchange commodity and calamity cards—and development phases, in which wealth from trade is spent to acquire advances in Arts, Crafts, Science, Civics and Religion that grant ongoing benefits and discounts for future purchases. Conflict, movement, city-building and trade determine access to resources and victory points, while optional modules add extra maps, special buildings, pirate ships, events and quests to scale the game from a shorter session up to very large multi-player setups.
