Players take charge of an East Asian empire and expand population tokens across a regional map, founding cities, engaging in border conflicts, and building trade networks. Trade rounds form the social core: players exchange commodity cards—some lucrative, some hidden calamities—and resolve their effects before converting wealth into civilization advances. A tech-like tableau of 45 advances across Arts, Crafts, Science, Civics and Religion grants powers, purchase discounts, and paths toward powerful late-game benefits. Map features such as rivers, pirate ships and optional walls shape movement and conflict, while event and optional Zodiac modules introduce global effects. The game supports integration with a southern map to scale player count and geographic scope.
