Players take the role of Guards tasked with holding a seal against rising monsters. Each player selects a character with distinct abilities and uses dice each round to choose actions printed on their Guard card. A sequence of monsters advances through levels; players roll and spend dice, resolve actions to damage or mitigate threats, and manage Peril to avoid triggering monster attacks. Monsters have Health and attack when not defeated, and the group must defeat the final monster before a limited number of rounds elapses.
