Red Star Rising: The War in Russia, 1941-1944

A two-player (or solitaire) operational wargame covering the Eastern Front from the 1941 German invasion through spring 1944. One side commands Axis forces, the other commands Soviet forces, maneuvering corps-to-army scale formations across a hex map where each hex represents about 35 km and turns span roughly two weeks to two months. Play uses a chit-pull activation system with bespoke modifications to drive initiative and reinforce historical timing. Players conduct movement, offensives, supply and attrition, and manage reinforcements and strategic reserves as frontline fortunes shift. The rules aim to model key constraints and dilemmas faced by commanders at this scale while supporting medium complexity and variable session lengths.
