Red Storm: The Air War Over Central Germany, 1987

Players command operational-level air forces in a hypothetical May–June 1987 air campaign over central Germany, managing large strike packages, combat air patrols, escorts, and jamming flights. Both sides deploy a mix of 3rd- and 4th-generation aircraft, long-range missiles, precision munitions, electronic warfare assets, and dense, layered SAM and AAA networks, while ground units and airfields form contested objectives. Scenarios require pre-planning of raids, loadouts, routes, and air-defense placement; play proceeds through detection, EW, and alternating movement/fight phases driven by a chit-draw system. Multiple scenarios range from short engagements to full-map operational campaigns.
