The Battle of Wakefield: Yorkshire, England 30 December 1460

A tactical simulation of the 30 December 1460 engagement near Wakefield during the Wars of the Roses. Players command small formations representing groups of roughly 250 men on a hex map scaled to 75 yards per hex, maneuvering infantry and leaders across terrain and into combat. Play proceeds in abstract turns using unit counters and a ten-sided die to resolve attacks and morale. The scenario emphasizes maneuver, timing of assaults, and the arrival of reinforcements; one side attempts to break the opposing force before additional troops change the balance. Designed for two or more players, the scenario supports solitaire play and runs from about one to four hours.
