Roman patricians struggle to preserve a crumbling homeland as barbarians raid the borders, the economy collapses, and the Senate indulges in endless rhetoric. Players take turns managing doom, supporting Rome, and exerting influence through actions in locations such as the treasury, palace, baths, forum, and curia. Each patrician may aid the republic or betray it, while defeated players face the consequences of their choices. The game ends when a winning condition is met, including secret paths that can make everyone lose.
