Goldland

Los jugadores exploran una región salvaje en busca de un templo perdido, construyendo poco a poco el mapa con losetas robadas al azar. Cada jugador gestiona una mochila que contiene herramientas, provisiones, mercancías para comerciar y tesoros; el número de espacios vacíos determina la velocidad de movimiento, así que llevar menos cosas permite viajar más rápido. Algunas ubicaciones proporcionan objetos cuando se lleva el equipo necesario, mientras que las losetas de aventura requieren gastar objetos específicos para entrar. Los marcadores de campamento hacen que sea más fácil volver a visitar las losetas de aventura completadas, fomentando los viajes de ida y vuelta mientras los jugadores reúnen suministros y abren una ruta hacia el templo. Llegar antes al templo proporciona una bonificación mayor.

Goldland is a Kramer and Kiesling (K&K) game where you get a single pawn, and you walk him around the board as it's revealed completing challenges and collecting treasures. You lay tiles down as you explore and are rewarded points for having completed the most of each type of challenge, and you get some bonuses for getting to the furthest end of the board first. You beat the challenges by discarding the appropriate gear from your backpack, and you have limited space. In fact, the more stuff you carry, the slower you get moving around the board which is an interesting dynamic. Ultimately, this game was too random due to not knowing what to stockpile vs what tiles would be revealed by other players. This style of game is better executed in both The Cave and Lost Valley: The Yukon Goldrush 1896.

The idea sounds good, but I hated being stuck in one spot. Lost Valley does the same thing, but in a much more enjoyable way.
