Valkyrie

A checkers-style battle unfolds across two boards: Midgard, representing Earth, and Asgard, the realm of the gods. Each player controls three gods, a Valkyrie, and nine human or monster troops. Players take two actions per turn. Troops move one square in any direction, gods move one square orthogonally without moving backward, and Valkyries move freely except onto the final line. Moving onto an opposing piece starts a battle, with combat strength determined by piece value. Valkyries can also transfer adjacent troops between the two worlds. Victory comes from eliminating three opposing gods or being the last player with troops on Midgard.
