Wabbit Wampage

Tactical cartoon warfare pits Farmer Brown against rival Wabbits in a seasonal battle for points. Players plow fields in Spring, stockpile carrots in Summer, whomp enemies in Fall, and destroy buildings in Winter. Mail-order items provide extra tools for disrupting opponents, in a farm conflict inspired by classic cartoon battles.

This games screams "wacky" all over the place, it's immense fun, but somehow, strangely enough, it keeps its strategic qualities well above the "fun but shallow" gameplay. Most importantly it created a unique gameplay that you should try at least once. That said , too long for what it is, surely play the short variant

I can still remember seeing this game in the store in the 80s and buying it just because of the theme. Wambo Wabbit! Jet packs and dynamite arriving in the mail! Blow up the farmer's shed! How awesome! My friends and I played this through to the end only once, and, we laughed all the way through it... it was cartoon mayhem! BUT, the rules were so complicated, I can clearly recall many times where we got "stuck" trying to figure out what to do next. In the end, even though we laughed our butts off playing this game, we never wound up playing it again. Too bad, maybe we needed to just give it a second try? not sure.
