CO₂
Players act as CEOs of energy companies in the 1970s, proposing and building clean power plants to meet rising energy demand while preventing runaway pollution. Gameplay centers on securing money, expertise, resources, and Carbon Emissions Permits (CEPs) to complete regional projects and UN goals; CEPs are spent to install infrastructure, traded on a fluctuating market, and influence regional development. Players gain victory points from built plants, completed UN and company goals, retained CEPs, money, and expertise. Cooperative elements and summit events allow limited sharing of expertise as regions progress toward sustainable energy targets.
