The Castles of Burgundy
Players act as medieval aristocrats developing a princedom in the Burgundy region. Over five phases of five rounds each, players draft settlement tiles, place them into regions of their personal princedom board, and trigger the tile’s immediate effect. On a turn, a player takes two actions from four options: take a settlement tile into a staging area, place a staged tile into the princedom, deliver goods by matching dice, or take workers to modify future dice rolls. Tiles grant benefits such as money, extra actions, advancement on the turn-order track, goods, die manipulation, or endgame points, and completing a region yields bonus points. The game ends after the fifth phase and total victory points determine the winner.

Mohasz9.0 After trying this new edition, it's not as bad as some say. Yes, the boards are too busy and they take some time to get used to, but other than that, I think this is a better version. One negative though, is that the player boards are even thinner than in the original. Note that the second printing had some improvements. - Better readability on yellow tiles (however, still too small icons) - Black marks on the front side of black tiles (as in the original) - Thicker box (this was a common complaint for the 1st printing) - I'm not sure if this is an overall production improvement, but in my copy, the artwork on the tiles is consistently centered correctly on the front sides, and only slightly off-centered on some of the backs One odd thing about this printing: - The back of the tiles now don't have any artwork they're just plain colored - maybe to eliminate the 'off-centered' issue, or just to improve readability of the colors

Can I place a tile straight from a depot into my estate?
No. A tile taken from a depot must first go into an empty storage space on your board, even if you use your other action to place it immediately. (p. 8)
When I place a tile, does the die choose its color or the space?
The die chooses an empty space in your estate by its number. The tile must match the space’s color and be adjacent to a tile already in your estate; your first tile must go next to your starting castle. (p. 5)
Can I use workers to change a die from 1 to 6?
Yes. Each worker changes a die by one, and changing 1 to 6 or 6 to 1 is allowed; you can spend multiple workers to adjust it further. (p. 4)
When I add an animal tile, do I score only the animals on that tile?
Not always. If the new tile shares an animal type with tiles in the same pasture, score all tiles showing that animal type in that pasture again; matching animals in other pastures don’t count. (p. 6)
Can I build the same type of building twice in one city?
No. Each of the eight building types can appear only once in a city, which is a connected region of beige spaces. (p. 6)
Does completing a region score points only for its size?
No. A completed region scores points for its size and an additional phase bonus: 10 points in phase A, decreasing to 2 points in phase E. (p. 8)
