Tokaido: Deluxe Edition
Players take the role of pilgrims traveling the historic East Sea road of Japan, moving along a linear path and stopping at locations to experience sights, meals, encounters, hot springs and souvenir collecting. Play proceeds by choosing movement spaces to control turn order and select which stop to visit, then resolving the location’s action to gain points and components that build each player’s journey tableau. This deluxe edition consolidates core components and the Crossroads expansion into a larger box: a giant game board, character tiles and unpainted traveler miniatures, full card sets (base and Crossroads), metal coins, furoshiki markers, colored bases, a wooden die, fabric bag and soundtrack CD. Matsuri is not included.
