Players recreate the opening of public railway operations in mid-19th-century Switzerland through stock trading, company development, and track building. The game follows a standard 18xx structure: investors buy and sell shares to control railway corporations, operate trains to run routes and earn revenue, and lay track tiles to expand networks across a mountainous map. Special rules model Swiss-specific infrastructure: seven private companies, five mountain railroads, and five tunnel operators interact with fifteen railroad corporations to reflect historical constraints and opportunities.
