Rielabora To The Last Man. Questo wargame strategico a carte copre tutti gli aspetti della Prima guerra mondiale sul Fronte orientale. I giocatori si alternano giocando carte e muovendo le unità, usando le carte per i combattimenti, i rimpiazzi e gli eventi tecnologici, militari e politici. Entrambi i giocatori tirano i dadi durante i combattimenti, mantenendo l’azione interattiva per tutta la durata di ogni turno. Risorse come munizioni, riserve e pianificazione sono limitate: i giocatori devono quindi gestire le proprie forze e prepararsi alle grandi offensive. Gli scenari coprono ogni anno dal 1914 al 1917, una campagna ipotetica del 1918 e i piani prebellici. Le regole includono grandi offensive, truppe d’assalto, carri armati, attacchi con il gas, cavalleria, battaglie aeree, riserve, artiglieria d’assedio, forti ed eventi sugli altri fronti.

Pros: Good rulebook. Low downtime and fast combat. Cons: The map is extremely small compared to the size of the components. The green color is almost as dark as the black color which makes them very hard to differentiate on the map. I found the cards to be somewhat boring in what they do. The combat is as luck based as most non-CRT games in my opinion. The game is mainly a hand management and maneuvering game, but I didn't find either of these mechanics to be any fun in this game as I disliked the combat and component design (especially the map and the color choice on the wooden tokens). I think I could really like this game a lot of I printed a map that is twice as big, switched out the combat with a CRT to keep the swingyness down and also changed the color on the green wooden tokens.
