Plantagenet: Cousins' War for England, 1459 - 1485

Due fazioni rivali si contendono il controllo dell’Inghilterra del XV secolo in una simulazione che abbraccia l’intera campagna delle Guerre delle Due Rose. I giocatori comandano le forze yorkiste o lancastriane attraverso scenari consecutivi oppure durante l’intera guerra, usando operazioni militari per muoversi e combattere e operazioni politiche per corteggiare nobili e città. Gli eserciti hanno bisogno di vettovaglie e denaro, mentre i leader devono costruire e mantenere reti di lord alleati, la cui lealtà può cambiare. Le battaglie mirano a uccidere o catturare nobili chiave e influenzano la reputazione di ciascuna parte; devastazioni e saccheggi hanno conseguenze politiche. Il gioco riproduce il mutare delle lealtà, la logistica e le manovre a livello di campagna attraverso le tre fasi principali del conflitto.

After a few more plays, it's evident that it's a totally different game than Nevsky, but surely as good if not even better. [prev comment] Four plays in, it seems lighter than Nevsky, more dynamic and for the most part a tug-of-war not completely unlike TS. But then the battles start and you see how meaningful they are, they can make you win or lose a game in one turn after many turns of attrition. I like that the mechanisms are simpler than Nevsky, it makes for a different game. I prefer Nevsky at times for being so mean and hard to figure out stuff and rendering the setting perfectly, but this is just more fun. I found the rules pretty badly laid out and somehow incorrect or imprecise in a couple of places.
