Red Typhoon: The Soviet Winter Counter-Offensive, 1942

A tactical operational wargame set during the Soviet counter-offensive in front of Moscow in early 1942. Two players command opposing formations and use activation points each turn to allocate movement and attack: some units may move, some may attack, some may do both, and some may remain inactive depending on choices. Combat follows traditional resolution with the attacker executing retreats and causing disruption to withdrawn units. The scenario opens with large Soviet breakthroughs that the German player must plug or sometimes counterattack. Special rules cover German panzers, Soviet airborne forces, and partisan activity.
