Village Green

I giocatori assumono il ruolo di giardinieri rivali che preparano il loro spazio verde di quartiere per l’imminente competizione Village Green dell’anno. Ad ogni turno, i giocatori acquisiscono e posizionano elementi come aiuole, alberi, statue e laghetti, gestendo tempo e risorse limitati per installare e disporre efficacemente le varie caratteristiche. I giocatori inoltre nominano il proprio spazio verde per diversi premi, bilanciando le scelte di posizionamento con le opportunità di ottenere punti e le azioni degli avversari. Il gioco ruota attorno al posizionamento di tessere e segnalini, alla pianificazione tattica e al tempismo, mentre i giocatori cercano di massimizzare i punti reagendo alle mosse dei giardinieri rivali e allo stato mutevole del loro spazio verde.

A smart little game quasi-abstract game of optimization PROS - The gameplay is easy to teach and learn (except for the flower icons management, see CONS below). It is pretty hard to master though. - The game rewards players for taking things that would fit in other people's gardens, but it does not drag the game down or make it overstay its welcome (as you would only do so if the card is also useful to you, therefore advancing the game while taking it). - Cute watercolor art contributing to its relaxing theme. CONS - It is fairly easy for new players to get themselves into a position where new cards cannot be placed (except for Grass cards), due to a bad management of the flower icons. For some reason it is not as organic as it probably should be. - Can be a bit multisolitaire. - The theme is a bit bland. It is relaxing, but do not expect to have the feeling of building a pretty garden or hve something personal to look at when finishing.
