Cartaventura: Versailles

1687, Versailles. Players take the role of Julie d'Aubigny, a young woman raised at court whose marriage has been arranged and whose future is constrained by the expectations of Louis XIV’s world. The game plays as a narrative card-driven adventure: players choose cards that present dilemmas, actions, and routes through the story, building an individualized path that can be replayed to reach different endings. Historical context and watercolor-style art set the scene, while a short historical booklet provides background. A guided tutorial introduces the mechanics, and repeated playthroughs allow players to discover secrets and optimize choices to unlock alternate outcomes.
