Players represent rival ambassadors in the 23rd century coordinating a joint mission to contact alien civilizations across the galaxy. Through a sequence of major and minor events—auctions, drafts, risk encounters and transmission events—players bid, draft special cards, and take push‑your‑luck risks to gain influence with various alien civs. Interaction boards for civilizations are randomized each game, and currency cards and ranked bidding resolve ties. Gameplay emphasizes timed auctions, strategic hand management, and escalating risk-reward choices; final scoring awards large bonuses or penalties based on how acceptable each ambassador’s actions are to the aliens, and the highest prestige earns the winning seat in the Galactic Senate.
